TAPP Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
TAPP is a tap-based game with global leaderboards. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, and who else sees it.
The short version
You play first and save your account second. A TAPP account is a player name, a country, your scores and progress, and — once you save it — the sign-in you chose: Sign in with Apple or an email address. There is no password. We do not collect your real name, your phone number, your contacts or your location.
What we collect
You give us:
- Username — the name you pick when you set up the app (or a generated one such as
quickfox_21on older accounts). It is shown publicly on the leaderboards, which is the whole point of it. - Country — a two-letter country code. Taken from your device's language and region settings when your account is created, and changeable by you at any time. Shown publicly next to your scores.
- A sign-in, when you save your account — either your Apple ID, of which we receive only the email address Apple shares with us (Apple's Hide My Email relay address if you choose that), or an email address you type in. We use it for exactly one thing: emailing you a one-time code so you can sign back in. It is never shown to other players and is never used for marketing.
Created automatically when you play:
- An account ID — a random identifier that lets our servers tell players apart. It is not derived from your device or from anything that identifies you personally. Saving your account attaches your sign-in to this same ID; it does not create a new one.
- Gameplay events — for each run, the timings of your taps and, in Dodge, where on the screen you tapped. We use these to calculate and verify your score on our servers, which is how we keep fake scores off the leaderboards.
- Your scores and results in Classic, Dodge and Reaction Time, and when you set them; your TAPP Points and streak.
- Your subscription status — whether you have TAPP Pro, which plan, and when it renews or ends; and whether you bought the earlier one-time ad removal. We never see your payment details.
We do not collect: your real name, phone number, contacts, photos, or your location. TAPP never requests location access. Your country comes from a device setting and from your own choice — not from GPS, and not from your IP address. When you use Sign in with Apple we do not ask for your name.
Who else receives data
- Apple — if you use Sign in with Apple, Apple verifies your identity and passes us the email address you chose to share. Apple also handles all payments for TAPP Pro. See https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Supabase — hosts our database and our accounts, and sends the one-time sign-in codes to your email address. Your username, country, email address, scores and gameplay events are stored there, in the EU.
- RevenueCat — manages the TAPP Pro subscription and the earlier ad-removal purchase, and tells our servers whether they are active. RevenueCat receives your account ID and your purchase history, never your card details. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Google AdMob — serves the banner and interstitial ads shown to players without TAPP Pro. AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and information about your use of the app. On iOS this only happens if you allow it when asked; if you decline, ads still appear but are not personalised. See Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- PostHog — product analytics. Receives which screens you open and what you do in the app, tied to your account ID, so we can see what players use and what they get stuck on. It does not receive your email address. Hosted in the EU. See https://posthog.com/privacy
- Expo — delivers app updates. See https://expo.dev/privacy
If you have TAPP Pro or bought ad removal, ads stop and AdMob stops receiving anything.
Sharing a score builds the image on your phone and hands it to the app you choose through the system share sheet. Nothing about who you shared it with comes back to us.
Keeping and deleting your data
Scores are kept indefinitely, because the all-time leaderboard is a permanent record.
Signing out keeps your account. Sign back in with the same Apple ID or email address and your name, scores, progress and subscription are exactly where you left them. An account you have not saved with a sign-in cannot be recovered if you delete the app, and the app tells you so.
You can delete your account from Settings → Manage account. Deleting it removes your sign-in, your username, your ranks and your entire score history from every leaderboard for good. The app warns you before doing this. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel that in your Apple ID settings.
If you would rather write to us, email myboroughuk@gmail.com from the address on your account, or tell us your exact username and country, and we will delete it for you.
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, and to complain to the ICO (https://ico.org.uk).
Children
TAPP is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. The app shows advertising and is rated accordingly.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and note it in the app's release notes.
